Sacred Service Teams
Prayer Team
Are you enthusiastic and have a positive regard for people and a belief in the power of prayer? Are you comfortable praying with others or willing to become able to do so? Ushers/Greeters
Are you looking for an opportunity to meet new people, get to know others in our spiritual family better and a way to serve on Sunday mornings? The ushers/greeters start the morning with a pray in at 10:30 AM. We then welcome each person as they enter the sanctuary, pass the collection baskets and give out guest packets/flowers to our first time visitors. If you are interested, the team’s sign up sheet for 2010 is on the table in the back of the sanctuary or call Jan Deverman at 912-920-9250.
Outreach Ministry
Are you looking to make a difference in our community, the Outreach team is for you. One of the places that we support is Park Place, a home for runaway, homeless or in crisis youth. This ministry also sponsors our Angel Tree each Christmas, ensuring each youth at Park Place receives a Christmas gift. They also take part in the Salvation Army’s Adopt-A-Family program, providing non-perishable foods and gifts for the children. This ministry takes part in various community and service events throughout the year. If you want to help ensure these worthy goals, then this is the team for you. Hospitality
Are you someone who enjoys entertaining or helping others have an opportunity to fellowship together? If so then the Hospitality Team is the place for you. This team prepares the coffee for Sunday and sets out the pastry/cookies for the social hour at the church. Members rotate service and are expected to arrive 20 minutes before the service to set up. Hospitality also takes care of Birthday Sunday, the first Sunday of every month. If interested, please call Bryan Graves at 912-704-1326 or bryangraves@aol.com
Homeless Ministry
You can make a difference in this community’s homeless situation. Every Saturday our Homeless Ministry hands out coffee, water, snacks, underwear, and some toiletries as well as letting the homeless know that they are not forgotten and that they matter. If you are interested in reaching out to those who need some respect and encouragement contact Christopher at heychristopher@aol.com
Youth & Family Ministry
The future of Unity as well as our world is our children and you can be a part of that future. Our Youth & Family Ministry is seeking volunteers for all age groups, nursery to Y.O.U. They are currently looking for two people to cover a Sunday a month for our nursery. You do not have to teach to do nursery, just enjoy young children.
If you wish to teach our future there are opportunities for each age group: Unitots (3-5), Unikids (6-8) and Tweens (9-12). Our Y.O.U. (ages 13-19) meet every Sunday at 10 AM with Rebekkah Odum. Bookstore/Gift Shop
Love to shop, love nice things, have a flair for retail, love to be of service to others? Our Book/Gift Store is open on Sundays and is a wonderful place to spend time in after the service.
