If you are an artist and would like to be involved with other artists who are trying to improve their talent and get more exposure then please come and join us right here in the fellowship hall of Unity of Savannah at 4:30PM each Sunday afternoon.
Pride
Unity will have a booth at Savannah Gay Pride again this year. The date is Saturday, September 11 at Forsyth Park. We would love to have as many volunteers a possible! Please sign up on the sheet in the back of the sanctuary, or contact Dyan Hyman at dyanhyman@aol.com
Unity World Day of Prayer
Wednesday, September 8th, we will have a special service at 7:00 PM where we will have live streaming from Unity Village for the opening ceremonies for World Day of Prayer. This is always a powerful experience and one you will not want to miss.
Thursday, September 9th: Unity’s World Day of Prayer - 9:00AM we will begin our own prayer vigil which will continue until 6:00 PM. We will begin the day with another live stream from Unity Village at 9:00 AM. Come and join us and experience the power of prayer that reaches far beyond any physical distance.

Friday, August 13th: 7PM - NOTE THIS NEW TIME……Family Movie Night - followed by an Ice Cream Social Hour - Presenting “Pay It Forward“. The idea of the book and film has been brought to life by the Pay It Forward Foundation, and through the work of social activist Jane Tewson and the non-profit organization she founded, Timebank. Ice Cream will be served in the Community Room following the movie. FREE POPCORN….. but please bring a soft drink or water to drink!

Power of Understanding
To understand the Twelve Powers, you have to know that they are twelve expressions of the one Power, the Christ within each of us. The Twelve Powers are: love, faith, understanding, wisdom, imagination, zeal, strength, will, life, power, renunciation and order.
What is meant by “the Christ” is “the fully awakened human being.” … It is the state of consciousness within us that is completely one with God. Jesus, the man from Galilee, born in Bethlehem, realized his true spiritual nature and became the Christ … showing us the way for each of us to know our Christ nature and to fully realize it.
July / Understanding / Thomas / Gold
The disciple representing Understanding is Thomas. The co-coordinating color is gold, and the physical location for this power is the front of the brain just above the eyes. This area of the brain is generally considered to be the center of the conscious mind.
Affirmation: “God stands under all things and the perfect outworking is being revealed to me now.”
Thomas represents two levels of Understanding. The first level is intellectual Understanding. It looks through the five senses and comes to you through those five senses. It’s the Understanding you gain from what you see, read, and learn from others. It’s from the outside, the material, intellectual world, and is basically materialistic.
The power of Understanding is the ability to comprehend. At the deeper level, it is based upon an inner, spiritual Understanding. Once you realize that materialistic Understanding does not bring any peace of mind or true satisfaction, you begin to seek the One who can help you. You are finally open to the Christ presence which indwells you. Through this inner Christ, you have a spiritual awakening, and you begin to draw true, spiritual Understanding from your inner Christ.
Understanding includes knowledge, wisdom, awareness, which is consciousness, perception, intelligence, logic. Spiritual Understanding is an awakening, touching the inner Christ.
The truth that stands under all changing facts and circumstances is God. There is only one presence and power in the universe, God, the Good omnipotent, and It stands under all things. To know this is to have spiritual Understanding.

Gospel Sunday July 4th
Sunday, July 4th we will be celebrating with a celebration of music and culture that opens the heart and stirs the soul.
Rev. Arlene will give a special talk on the power that this style of music has for us. and the music team will consist of the Unity of Savannah house band and a full gospel choir!
