Mid-week Message
August 11, 2010
I love to read about miracles happening in people’s lives. Yes, I do believe in miracles. One of the definitions for a miracle is “an event or action that is totally amazing, extraordinary or unexpected.” (Encarta World English Dictionary)
I know I have had many events and actions in my life that were totally “amazing, extraordinary and certainly unexpected.”
In all spiritual and religious literature there are many cases of miracles. Miracles occur in both the Old and New Testament. What is the common denominator? In my humble opinion it is that someone – either the doer or the receiver of the miracle did something. The miracle could happen even if the doer did nothing as long as the receiver did something.
That something often involved the changing of one’s consciousness. In other words they had to have faith that it could happen and then they took action as an evidence of their faith and willingness. A wonderful example is the woman who did not stop bleeding until she touched Jesus’ garment.
When we change our thinking and stop thinking negatively about what can or cannot happen and begin to look at the amazing works of God, we understand that with God all things are possible.
Quote of the Week – “Daughter your faith has made you well, go in peace, and be healed of your disease.” Matt 9:22
Affirmation of the Week – It is through my faith that miracles occur in my life.
