Richard Mekdeci is a Unity Minister ordained in June of 2018, whose life has been all about service to the Unity movement since 1986 when he became Minister of Music at First Church Unity in Nashville, TN for 12 years.
From 1998 – 2004 Richard served as Music and Creative Arts Coordinator for Unity Village retreats where he helped plan and execute more than 50 retreats.
His passion and love for Unity and Unity principles inspired him to become a Licensed Unity Teacher in 2004.
From 2004 – 2014, Richard served in multiple capacities at Unity Worldwide ministries including Ministry Services, Convention Production, and Sacred Music Resources Coordinator building the foundation for the body of New Thought music we now enjoy in our churches.
Richard is President and Co-Founder of Empower Music & Arts, which provides thousands of songs, sheet music, songbooks, music licensing and consulting to our Unity and New Thought churches. He has visited dozens of Unity churches around the world speaking, facilitating workshops and performing his music, which is well-known throughout the Unity movement.
Reverend Richard currently serves Unity Renaissance Spiritual Life Center in Chesapeake, VA .
