Day of the Dead Potluck and Vigil

This November first, Unity Savannah invites you to join us for an evening of remembrance, love, and community. Día de los Muertos — the Day of the Dead — is a tradition rooted in the belief that our beloved dead are not gone from us. They are near. And on the Day of The Dead, the veil between us grows thin enough to feel that. So on this sacred day, we hold vigil for those who have passed.

We’ll share food together — all are encouraged to bring a dish your loved one would have enjoyed. We’ll write letters to the ones we miss and send them off in fire, and we’ll open the sanctuary for an open mic, to share whatever is on our hearts. There will be an alter in the sanctuary to place photos and momentos to honor our departed loved ones. And we’ll have volunteers present to pray affirmatively with whomever might need support. Space will be held for whatever sacred feelings come to the surface.

All are welcome. All your beloved who have gone on are welcome too.
