Retreat Details
You will participate in sitting meditation, walking meditation, and mindful eating for lunch. This retreat will be presented in the spirit of Unity’s fourth principle on the power of prayer and meditation. You will gain specific skills to deal with the rush of thoughts, strong emotions, and physical sensations.
We will maintain Noble silence throughout the day except for questions and answers at the end. You will be asked to turn your phone off and to put it in a basket to be retrieved at the end of the day.
What is Vipassana meditation?
It is believed that Vipassana is the method that the Buddha developed as he sat underneath the Bohdi tree when he became enlightened. The word literally means “seeing things as they are“ in Pali, the language that the Buddha spoke.
Unity helps us to feel good about ourselves and to feel close to God as we understand God to be. Buddhism has helped to relieve my suffering more than any other spirituality. – Rev. Ed Kosak
