Meet our YEP Director Iris Holmes McCraw (Miss Iris)
I was introduced to Unity during my childhood through Unity periodicals and books. I have been involved with Unity of Savannah since moving to Savannah in 2004. In addition to the support of the minister, board and congregation, assistance and training for our Youth Enrichment Program (YEP) is provided by the Southeast Region Youth and Family Consultant. In 2018, I was privileged to attend the annual Youth and Family Ministry Training at Unity Village. The YEP of UoS continues to benefit from the richness and breadth of that experience.
My formal education includes a BS in Information Systems, an MS in Education and certification as a PLC (Professional Learning Community) Facilitator. Since retiring from full-time work in 2013, I have been developing and facilitating workshops for parents through Parent University’s Early Learning College.
I am delighted to serve as director of the Youth Enrichment Program of Unity of Savannah. Interacting with the children allows me to express my “inner child” and have lots of fun! Choosing and presenting activities that illustrate Truth Principles through age-appropriate methods, also challenges me and deepens my knowledge.
